Blue Jackets vs. Blues LiveBlog Tonight

If you were going to pick two Cinderella stories in the NHL this year, it would be the Columbus Blue Jackets and the St. Louis Blues.

In the game that I covered earlier this week, the Blue Jackets beat the Chicago Blackhawks to secure their first ever playoff birth in the franchise's history. You can't help but feel good for the relatively unknown small market team who's playoff hopes have been resting on the stellar play of rookie sensation goaltender Steve Mason.

As for the Blues; to say that they have been plagued by injuries would be somewhat of an understatement. They lost their franchise player as well as two of their top defensemen to season ending injuries and the rest of the team has had their fair share as well. Despite that, the young guns like Berglund, Oshie and Perron have stepped up to write the script.

The final chapter however, has come down to the final weekend.

It is the Cinderella Blue Jackets that the Blues must face tonight in the first of their last two games. There are four teams left vying for the final two spots in the West and all four of those teams play tonight.

I will be liveblogging the game on theScore. CLICK HERE for a direct link. I look forward figuring out the math for you on what the wins and losses mean for our playoff hopefuls.

Toodles.
