Bell Claimed by Rangers

It didn’t take long, but considering that every team lower than the Rangers in the Standings had the opportunity to take him, Mark Bell has slid quite a bit in terms of value.

Due to his claim on re-entry waivers, the Leafs will have to pay half of his remaining contract - which expires at the end of the season. I’m sure the Leafs don’t care due to their amount of cap space available.

It’s nice to see Mark Bell having another opportunity in the big league. Hopefully he can do well in New York. Being that he is somewhat of an agitator, does this rule out the return of Sean Avery? Or are they looking at stocking players with attitude on the now John Tortorella team?
