Buffalo signs Matt Generous to one year contract

On Wednesday, April 1st the Sabres signed d-man Matt Generous to the team. It was only a one year contract, and will begin next season. Until then, Generous will play with the Pirates. (Buffalo's AHL affiliate) It seems like the Sabres are looking to beef up their team for next season, so let's hope it works.

The 200 lb 23 year old recently graduated from St. Lawrence University, where he played 139 games. His senior year he was voted ECAC's outstanding defensive defenseman. (An oddly phrased title) That season he had 15 points and was +5 in 33 games. His overall college point total was 56. He hails from Cheshire, CT.

He will be playing alongside Buffalo defensemen such as Lydman, Numminen, Paetsch, and Rivet. Hopefully he can keep up and help the Buffalo Sabres to win the 2010 Stanley Cup.
